*KEY RESPONSIBILITIES*
* Check slopes for conformance to requirements, using levels or lasers.
* Cut and bevel pipes to suit.
* Install and/or repair storm, sanitary, water and hydro tel systems.
* Lay out and/or locate pipe routes, following written instructions or blueprints, and coordinating layouts with supervisors and municipal requirements. Setup and use instruments such as lasers, grade rods, and transit levels.
* Achieve the correct grade by directing operators of equipment to adjust grades as required.
* Responsible for equipment checks and informing supervisors of problems with equipment.
* Able to identify hazards on site.
* Willing and able to learn general construction practices involving civil works.
* Have an understanding of the issues involving ground disturbance and the ability to work in and implement safe work practices as well as contribute to a safe working environment.
* Previous experience as a heavy equipment operator is an asset.
*ESSENTIAL SKILLS & ABILITIES*
* Valid Class 5 drivers license (minimum)
* Minimum 2 years industry experience in the civil construction industry, within a pipe crew.
* Ability to read and interpret blueprints is an asset.
* Must be familiar with requirements for municipal sewer, water, hydro and telephone installations.
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
* Pride of ownership in providing quality results and service.
* Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to work within a crew.
* Ability to push, pull, lift 23kg + (50lbs+)
* Ability to work outside in all weather.
* Ability to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Pay: $30.00-$38.00 per hour
