Job details
We are looking for a dedicated, creative, hard working person to lead our team.
Responsibilities:
Ø Staff recruitment, development, and evaluation.
Ø Marketing.
Ø Enrollment.
Ø Maintain the center website and social media.
Ø Fiscal management.
Ø Ensure the center meets all requirements set by law.
Ø Administration and record organization and maintenance.
Ø Team-building.
Ø Shared decision-making.
Ø Oversee daily operations.
Ø Creation of a safe, respectful, and fair environment for children and staff.
Ø Ensure centre complies with the Ministry of Education Child Care and Early Years
Ø Act and the Municipal criteria.
Ø Collaborate with staff to develop and implement creative child programs that are age
appropriate.
Ø Develop and grow philosophies and practices to meet the children's needs.
Ø Foster an environment that respects children?s strengths, rights, and needs.
Ø Oversee programming content and age appropriateness of programming.
Ø Ensure that children receive healthy, nutritious, and balanced lunches and snacks in
accordance with all applicable public health.
Ø Maintain accurate records on each child including medical, consent forms, transition and attendance records.
Ø Lead staff by motivating, mentoring, and coaching
Ø Promote staff performance through frequent formal and informal constructive
feedback and staff evaluations
Ø Identify training and professional development opportunities for staff.
Ø Manage the logistical elements of staffing such as organizing staffing requirements
and schedules, maintaining accurate and up-to-date staff records, and scheduling
staff meetings
Ø Responsible for maximizing enrolment through promoting, marketing, and advertising
the centre.
Ø Pursue alternative funding, such as subsidies, grants, fundraising, and donations
Ø Manage and oversee the finances and accounting of the centre: including payroll,
staff hours, and accounts receivable and payable
Ø Make sure safety and cleanliness maintained in the classrooms and in the centre.
Ø Maintain the quality, raise the standard of the centre and enrollments, waitlist
Ø Maintain ongoing and regular communication with parents through various methods such as
emails, newsletters, monthly update.
Ø Reporting to, and communicating closely with the Executive Director
Ø Ensuring that all legislation pertaining to the CCEYA and Operating criteria are
implemented
Ø Working closely with Executive Director and Assist the ED in all aspects of the day to day operation of the centre
Ø Lead and Guide staff in the development and implementation of children?s programming
Ø Ability to work as an effective team member, fostering a child-centered, family friendly atmosphere
Ø Assist in age appropriate and positive Behaviour Management of children
Ø Communicating and supporting families, with a high ESL component and diverse cultural backgrounds.
Ø Lead regarding managing external human resources (such as volunteers, students)
Ø Lead in managing facilities and ensure a safe and healthy environment.
Ø Able to support Executive Director in the implementation of policies and procedures.
Ø Staff and Children?s files Up to date, all other requirements.
Ø Regular meetings with Parents, Staff, and Directors.
Ø Meeting and maintaining Subsidy requirements and Criteria Check.
Ø Maintaining social media and regular promotions.
Ø All the Classroom and Office files, folders up to date and labelled.
Ø Centre and Classroom boards maintained regularly and up to date.
*Required Skills and Abilities:*
Ø Excellent leadership and management skills, knowledge and understanding of
provincial and municipal licensing requirements for childcare centres
Ø Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and QuickBooks
Ø Ability to delegate responsibilities where appropriate
Ø Strong verbal and written communications, creativity, interpersonal skills,
Ø Time management, and organizational abilities
