*Responsibilities:*
* Assist the optometrist in conducting preliminary tests and assessments.
* Prepare patients for examinations by gathering medical history and explaining procedures.
* Perform diagnostic tests including tonometry, visual field testing, and retinal imaging.
* Educate patients on eyecare procedures, contact lens insertion and removal techniques, and proper eyewear maintenance.
* Assist with fitting and dispensing contact lenses and eyeglasses.
* Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and equipment.
* Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, and processing payments.
* Provide outstanding customer service by addressing patient inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
* Answering phone calls and booking appointments.
*Requirements:*
* High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification or training as an Optometrist Assistant is a plus.
* Previous experience in a healthcare or customer service role preferred.
* Knowledge of eyecare terminology and procedures is beneficial.
* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
* Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
