We are currently looking for an experienced Truck and Transport Mechanic to join our dedicated fleet maintenance shop. Reporting to the Fleet Service Manager, this position will be responsible for all aspects of inspecting, servicing and repairing Clark Freightways? fleet of equipment.
What You?ll Do:
· Participates in the repair and maintenance of Company fleet equipment.
· Ensures internal maintenance documentation is fully and accurately completed within the prescribed time lines and all applicable daily paperwork is completed.
· Solid understanding and expectation to meet job times as assigned in Collective Fleet.
· Participates in all shop parts and supplies inventory counts as required.
· Assesses equipment and makes recommendations to Shop Foreman regarding repair advice when required.
· Aids in identifying possible warranty repair issues.
· Reports all ?non-routine? maintenance items such as damages or operator abuse to Shop Foreman.
· Assists Shop Foreman with repair estimates, equipment specs and assessment as needed.
· Maintains a clean, well-organized work environment & ensures safe work practices are followed at all times.
· Participates with all Company employees demonstrating technical leadership related to the Maintenance Shop responsibilities.
· Qualified technicians will be accountable for the instruction, guidance and safety of all apprentices.
· Participates in special projects assigned by Shop Foreman.
Who You Are:
· A professional with solid understanding and working knowledge of major truck, trailer and material components
· Valid class 3 with air break endorsement
· Certified Red Seal Truck & Transport Mechanic, preferred
· Valid Commercial Vehicle Inspector, preferred
· Critical thinking, job task planning and organization skills
· Proven problem solving and decision making skills
· Clear oral and written communication skills
· Ability to read technical diagrams and instructions
· Responsive when given direct tasks, and efficient when working alone
· High concern for safety and a responsible work attitude
· Ownership of basic tools and steel toed boots

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.35-$47.25 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
