The division is focused on ensuring all students have the opportunity to succeed and has designated numeracy and student mental health and wellness as division priorities. <p><p>Northern Lights Public Schools invites applications for the following position: <p>S2425-13 Educational Assistants - Aurora Middle School <p> We are seeking multiple full time (1.0 fte) positions commencing at the start of the 2024-2025 school year. These assignments involve assisting with student educational program needs including social skills, behaviour skills, self-help and personal care needs. These positions require a compassionate and energetic individual to work in a team environment.<p>Aurora Middle School is located in the Town of Lac La Biche with approximately 325 students in grades 4 to 8. Our school prides itself on being a caring, respectful, and safe school.<p>Preference will be given to applicants who have : <p><p> Post-Secondary training and/or experience as an Educational Assistant<p> Knowledge and experience with behavioral strategies<p> Experience working one-on-one and/or in group settings<p> Knowledge of documentation procedures and proficiency with computers<p> Knowledge and experience in alternate communication strategies<p> Experience assisting students with self-help and personal care needs<p> Familiarity with strategies to address different learning styles and experience with Individual Program Plans<p><p>Training and skills that would be an asset include: <p><p> Relative experience in educational assistance, nursing and/or rehabilitation<p> SIVA and/or Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training<p><p>How to Apply: <p>Interested applicants are required to create and complete all sections of their portfolio through the 'Apply On-Line' link on our website, in the employment section.
