<p>SYSTEMS ENGINEER CYBER SECURITY <p>Salary<p>Range - $93,038 - $116,301 per year <p>1.0 FTE Permanent<p>The<p>Simcoe County District School Board is seeking qualified applicants for the<p>full-time position of Systems Engineer to work as a member of the senior<p>technical team within Information Technology Services (ITS). The successful<p>candidate will provide technical support, supervision, leadership, and project<p>management, in a multi-functional role, with security being the primary<p>responsibility. Other areas of responsibility may include cloud computing,<p>networking, server support, Active Directory, endpoint management,<p>network/systems monitoring.<p>Responsibilities: <p> <p>Support and administration of security technologies such as<p>SIEM (Security Information and Event Management), EDR (Endpoint Detection &<p>Response), Network/Systems monitoring, Cyber Security.<p> <p>Implementation of Identity and security related processes and<p>procedures.<p> <p>Use provided tools to perform continual monitoring and<p>analysis of system activity to identify malicious activity and configure<p>mitigations.<p> <p>Maintenance of various security tools and technologies such<p>as: advanced malware detection, DDoS, IDS/IPS, DLP, Anti-spam as well as other<p>Cyber threat intelligence and vulnerability management capabilities<p> <p>Support the triage, investigation and response of<p>Cybersecurity incidents. Analyze identified malicious activity in the computing<p>environment to determine weaknesses exploited, exploitation methods, and<p>effects on system and information<p> <p>Provide support (or backup support) for other<p>responsibilities within the senior ITS team, such as Active Directory, cloud<p>computing, server support, networking.<p> <p>Other duties as assigned.Qualifications<p>and Skills Required: <p> <p>University degree in<p>Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent.<p> <p>A minimum of five (5) years'<p>related working experience in a large complex public sector organization,<p>preferably in an educational environment.<p> <p>CISSP or other industry recognized cyber<p>security certification and/or proven experience with<p>security technologies.<p> <p>Understanding of key IT /<p>Cybersecurity concepts (Network Security, Security Operations &<p>Administration, Managed Detection and Response, Incident Response &<p>Recovery, Vulnerability Management, etc.)<p> <p>Proficient and demonstrated<p>experience in managing network security, Windows and Linux operating systems<p>security and cloud security. <p> <p>Excellent knowledge of<p>Cybersecurity detect and respond methodologies, standards and best practices<p> <p>Knowledge of security threats,<p>common attack vectors and the use of security tools to monitor the technology<p>infrastructure and computing environment. Experience with process automation<p>using PowerShell and/or other scripting tools.<p> <p>Demonstrated<p>experience managing and configuring Linux systems.<p> <p>Excellent team leadership and<p>organizational skills as well as the ability to work independently and in a<p>team environment; exceptional problem-solving skills and works well under<p>pressure to meet aggressive timelines and resolve critical issues and excellent<p>interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.<p> <p>A valid drivers license and<p>reliable vehicle are required as
