*Crossroads Christian Communications Inc. has an excellent opportunity to join our highly skilled and experienced studio production team creating compelling, life-transforming media in the position of Lighting Technician.* *Tentative Hire Date: *January 6, 2025 *Position Summary* This position contributes to content creation through the primary focus on lighting and through the application of various technical skills to ensure high-quality broadcast production. *Areas of Responsibility:* * Design and set all productions' overall lighting/video quality and presentation. * Execute the lighting and video shading for all productions. * Ensure all broadcast elements lie within the CRTC-mandated levels. * Help with identifying problems and implementing solutions. * Ensure all equipment needed is in place and operational. * Contributing to the team in regard to the pre-production, production and post-production chain. *Specific Job Duties:* * Operate lighting board as well as video for studio cameras as a primary responsibility. * Set up lighting equipment. * Grip work, set maintenance, as well as hanging and focus both LED and Incandescent lighting fixtures. * Assist with setup, testing, problem-solving and execution of all needed equipment. * Additional production assistance may include Video Shader, Audio/video Post-production, Switcher, Floor Manager, Studio Camera Operator, Audio Assist, Teleprompter Operator. * Conduct Research to maintain an up-to-date knowledge of television techniques and new technologies. * Daily communication with the Director of Production. * Other duties as required. *Qualifications and Skills:* * College or University diploma/degree in Television Broadcasting. * Minimum of 3 years of Lighting Technician experience. * Working knowledge of both LED and Incandescent fixtures and their respective applications. * General knowledge of the entire production chain. * Time management skills. *Personal Attributes:* * Technologically Savvy * Problem solver * Critical observer * Reliable * Functions well under pressure * Flexible *Crossroads offers:* * Competitive benefits program for you and your eligible dependents * Employee Family Assistance Plan * Paid time-off benefits, personal, sick days * Group RSP matching plan *Work Environment:* * In-studio/office working environment * Friendly and highly collaborative team environment. * Co-workers who are committed to the exceptional delivery of our services, and meaningful personal and professional growth through Purpose Development. *How to Apply:* * Applications must include a current resume and a cover letter that includes a brief explanation of why you feel you would be a good fit for this role and our organizational purpose listed below. * We thank all applicants in advance, but only those selected for an interview opportunity will be contacted due to the volume of applications. * Applications internally and externally will be considered. * CCCI is an Employment Equity Employer. *About Us* *www.crossroads.ca* Crossroads is a highly respected organization and is Canada?s leader in providing Christian faith and values media content for people of all ages.
