*Job Overview*
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Desktop Support Technician to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing technical support to end-users, ensuring that all computer systems and networks operate efficiently. This role requires a strong background in various operating systems, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to troubleshoot software and hardware issues effectively.
*Duties*
* Provide first-level support for desktop hardware and software issues across various operating systems including Windows, MacOS, and Linux.
* Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity issues, including LAN configurations.
* Assist users with software applications such as Microsoft Office and other productivity tools.
* Maintain accurate records of support requests using ticketing systems like Jira.
* Perform routine maintenance on computers and peripherals to ensure optimal performance.
* Collaborate with other IT staff to implement solutions for complex technical problems.
* Educate users on best practices for computer usage and security protocols.
* Participate in the setup and installation of new hardware and software as needed.
*Requirements*
* Proven experience in desktop support or a related field.
* Strong knowledge of computer networking principles and LAN setups.
* Proficiency in troubleshooting software issues across multiple operating systems (Windows, MacOS, Linux).
* Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical users.
* Familiarity with ticketing systems such as Jira for tracking support requests.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
