At The Clarendon we are looking to grow our family! If you have experience in the hospitality industry, are friendly, motivated, and fast on your feet, we'd love to meet you Responsibilities: * Oversee the daily operations of the restaurant during daytime shifts, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery. * Lead and motivate the front-of-house staff, including hosts, servers, and bartenders, to provide exceptional customer service. * Supervise and coordinate dining room activities, including seating arrangements, table turnovers, and customer inquiries or concerns. * Maintain a clean and organized restaurant environment, adhering to health and safety regulations. * Monitor food quality and presentation, ensuring consistent standards are met. * Assist with staff training, ensuring team members are knowledgeable about the menu, specials, and restaurant policies. * Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement strategies for improving operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. * Handle customer complaints or issues promptly and professionally, striving to resolve them to the satisfaction of all parties involved. * Ensure proper cash handling procedures are followed and maintain accurate records of daily sales and transactions. * Assist in inventory management, including monitoring stock levels, placing orders, and verifying deliveries. Requirements: * Previous supervisory experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting. * Extensive knowledge of restaurant operations and customer service best practices. * Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational abilities. * Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. * Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems and basic computer proficiency. * Knowledge of health and safety regulations pertaining to the food service industry. * Availability to work daytime shifts, including weekends and holidays. Job Type: Full-time Pay: From $18.00 per hour Schedule: * Day shift * Monday to Friday * Weekends as needed Ability to commute/relocate: * Ottawa, ON K1B 3J2: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required) Education: * Secondary School (preferred) Experience: * Hospitality: 5 years (required) Language: * English (preferred) Licence/Certification: * Smart Serve (preferred) Work Location: In person- LocationOttawa, ON
