NVRC values employees, offering a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits.ABOUT THE POSITIONReporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, this lead operational and skilled technical position involves the performance of a variety of maintenance tasks according to established schedules, procedures, and planned maintenance programs. This role includes identifying malfunctions, maintaining inventory levels, and undertaking routine repairs or recommending those with greater complexity.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESPerform a variety of routine inspections, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair duties related to HVAC systems, refrigeration, pool control systems, plumbing, building automation system (BAS), and other support systems in NVRC facilities. Maintain records and repair logs of equipment operation. Lead facility maintenance workers in facility and equipment maintenance, pool maintenance, and refrigeration. Train employees on various facility maintenance tasks, work orders, and procedures. Establish and maintain preventative maintenance schedules for buildings and equipment including necessary repairs and upgrade adjustments to BAS, refrigeration plant, pool control systems, among others. Make minor programming changes, update graphics, and backup data on DDC system. Advise superintendent of major upgrades needed to facilities and controls equipment. Assist trades personnel and/or service contractors with complex technical repairs and upgrades. Ensure services are provided to standard and ensure building security and a safe environment. Monitor supply inventory levels and order materials related to maintenance and repairs when necessary. Perform related work as required.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIESConsiderable knowledge of the operating principles, functions, and practices used in building maintenance, servicing, and repair work for air conditioning equipment, boilers in commercial heating, building automation, refrigeration plants, pool control, and electrical control systems. Able to develop and carry out scheduled maintenance and inspections of a variety of equipment and systems. Considerable knowledge of occupational hazards and safe practices related to the work. Able to diagnose and troubleshoot causes of equipment breakdown, including identifying potential problems and making minor/major repairs. Considerable knowledge of the methods, materials, and tools used in the maintenance and repair of plumbing, carpentry, and electrical work. Able to provide direction to facility staff engaged in maintenance work. Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Able to perform maintenance tasks involving semi-skilled plumbing, carpentry, welding, and electrical tasks. Able to work independently with minimal supervision under general instructions. Skilled in the use and care of tools and equipment related to the work.QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate or equivalent Valid Class 5 B.C. Driver?s LicenceThe successful candidate will be required to provide their own tools and prepared to use their own vehicle when necessary. Mileage will be reimbursed.
