The Production Technician is responsible for the overall care of the pigs in all areas of the barn. Responsibilities include: - Ensure proper handling and comfort of pigs- Carry out feeding routine for pigs- Weigh, sort and move pigs- Recognize and treat common diseases and disorders of finishing pigs- Operate feed handling equipment and perform routine service- Provide water and perform routine maintenance on water drinkers- Interpret labels, handle and administer medications and vaccines- Ensure the Unit's biosecurity protocol is followed by all staff and visitors- Operate a high pressure washer and ensure cleanliness and sanitation standards for the Unit are met- Follow safe manure management procedures when cleaning out manure pits- Monitor and maintain proper ventilation and temperature using automated control system- Ensure accurate records are kept and submitted in a timely fashion to head office (weekly summary {pig movement}, weekly mortality and market load sheets)- Responsible to act safely in performing job duties at all times- Reporting safety concerns to the safety representative and/or Unit Manager.- Other duties as required- LocationPorcupine Plain, SK
