Casual Child and Youth Care Practitioners <p>Casual rate of pay: $24.14 <p>Long term occasional (LTO): $31.17-$37.01 <p><p>As a Supply Child and Youth Care Practitioner, you will work in temporary assignments at multiple schools throughout the diverse communities of Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board including Hamilton Mountain, Hamilton Downtown, Waterdown, Flamborough, Dundas, Ancaster, Mount Hope, Binbrook, Stoney Creek and Winona. You will be responsible for designing and implementing a range of prevention, intervention and treatment strategies to support student mental health and well-being, behaviour management and pro-social skills programming. You will work collaboratively as an integral member of an interdisciplinary educator team including, but not limited to: Behaviour Analysts, Principals, Vice Principals, Teachers, Educational Assistants, and system resource staff. <p>Responsibilities : <p><p> Design, implement and maintain individual behaviour management programs as part of an AIM Program, including setting behavioural objectives and evaluation for students in consultation with educator teams. <p> Support, maintain, evaluate and modify adequate levels of behaviour interventions, academic, social and self regulation skills in consultation with educator teams. <p> Develop proactive approaches to support positive outcomes for specific students using behaviour analytic strategies.<p> Intervene in student crisis management situations which may involve elements of Behaviour Management Systems (BMS) verbal and physical de-escalation, mediation, and debriefing. <p> Collect and assess student related data and contribute to the development and implementation of behaviour and safety plans for students using functional behavior assessment and other assessment tools identified by Specialized Services. <p> Meet the standards and expectations of the Ontario Association of Child & Youth Care (OACYC), including preparation of reports and maintaining appropriate records. <p><p>Qualifications, Skills & Experience: <p><p> Child and Youth Care degree;orChild and Youth Worker diploma with one year of experience in a related field;orequivalent combination of education and experience as determined by the Board.<p> Experience supporting children and adolescents with diverse backgrounds.<p> Demonstrated expertise using prevention, intervention, and treatment strategies to support student mental health and well-being, self regulation, and pro-social skills programming.<p> Experience using crisis management and physical intervention strategies.<p> Experience using applied behaviour analysis strategies with children and adolescents.<p> Experience carrying out functional behavioural assessments.<p> Current registration with the Ontario Association of Child and Youth Care (OACYC) preferred.<p> Knowledge and demonstrated ability to apply principles of cognitive behaviour therapy considered an asset.<p><p>How to Apply <p>Please apply directly on ApplyToEducation.
