Come join our Shoreham Team Responsible To: Gaye Ernst - Manager of Support Services - Shoreham VillageQualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent requiredPrevious experience in maintenance in a health care facility is considered an assetKnowledge and/or previous experience with water treatment systems considered as an assetMust have a good understanding of general maintenance functions including equipment repairs and preventive maintenance programsMust have general knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems and building structuresMust attend in-service programs while on duty as requiredRegular attendance and punctuality are requiredAble to lift/ move up to 50 lbsAbility to work well with others including co-workers, supervisors, and residents.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Ability to attend work on a regular and consistent basis according to the Shoreham Village StandardsFall arrest, confined space training, WHMIS, Occupational Health and Safety trainingMust have a valid driver's license and be prepared to obtain a Class 4 licenseMajor Responsibilities:Performs assigned duties necessary for the maintenance of the building, equipment and grouds consistant with safety standardsMaintains work order systemPerforms prevenative maintenance and daily checksOffers suggestions for the improvement of the overall maintenance functionCarries out routine maintenance on the buildings and building equipment within code requirements (e.g., minor carpentry, structural repairs, interior and exterior painting, plumbing, and electrical and mechanical work, etc.)Performs assigned duties necessary for the maintenance of the building, equipment and grouds consistant with safety standardsResponds to on-call maintenance as required; Completes daily work orders in a timely and satisfactory mannerInspects, operates, or tests machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctionsTests and treats water supplyDiagnoses mechanical problems and determines how to correct problems, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogues as necessaryPerforms general maintenance duties such as planned preventative routines, mounting pictures, mirrors, curtain rods, shower rods, replacing light bulbs, towel racks, paper/soap dispensers, knobs, locks, etc.Establishes preventative maintenance schedules on new equipment and carries out required maintenance of all equipment as required and in accordance with the preventative maintenance scheduleMaintains snow clearing and lawn equipment in good working orderEnsures all fire and security equipment are maintained in good working orderMaintains organization in the maintenance workshopMaintain supplies and inventory of equipment supplies in consultation with the ManagerAssists the Manager in the maintenance of contracts and service agreements with suppliersNotifies the Manager when services are required from outside contractorsPerforms other duties as requiredHours of Work: 80 Hours Bi-weekly (8 hour shifts) Salary: As per CUPE Collective AgreementEffective: ASAPIf this exciting opportunity interests you, please Click APPLY!Shoreham is proud to be an inclusive employer who encourages diverse applicant.
