<p>The Haisla Community School has an opening for the position of: <p>Elementary Teacher: full time <p>Job Description & Requirements: <p>One elementary teacher is required for the 2018-2019 school years. The successful candidate will be committed to working in a positive team atmosphere to ensure success for all students. Successful candidate will be working and playing in the traditional territory of Haisla Nation. Haisla Community School offers modern classrooms with state of the art technology, Haisla Language and Cultural Program, and a nutrition program. The successful teachers enjoy a wide range of employment benefits and world class professional development support systems through our partnership with School District #82 and First Nation Schools Association.<p>Qualification: <p> <p> Commitment to active participation in the school and Nations professional learning community to ensure student success;<p><p> <p> Committed to making collaborative decisions about instructional design and selection of instructional materials based on data related to students learning including teaching Readwell, Corrective Reading, Reading Mastery, JUMP Math and other foundational programs;<p> <p> <p> Demonstrated experience and training in differentiated learning, intensive behavioral management and special learning needs;<p> <p> <p> Demonstrate ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in the planning and delivery of the school?s goals;<p> <p> <p> Recent and successful classroom experience with multi-grade and inter-class organization;<p> <p> <p> Demonstrate effective classroom management skills for maintaining a positive classroom environment;<p> <p> <p> Proven interpersonal skills and a high degree of professional flexibility, patience and humor;<p> <p> <p> Must be highly motivated and able to work with children in a supportive and consistent manner;<p> <p> <p> Knowledge and understanding of First Nations culture;<p> <p> <p> Willingness to integrate appropriate technologies into your instructional practices in order to improve learning outcomes is essential;<p> <p> <p> Knowledge of and experience with Mind Up, Friends for Life, and DIBELS is considered an asset;<p> <p> <p> Must have or be eligible for BC Teacher Certification;<p> <p> <p> Minimum B.Ed. and BC Certification<p> Job Duties include but not limited to: <p> <p><p> <p> Consistently complete comprehensive and detailed planning of all curriculum, including daily lessons, day plans, overviews, units and assessment strategies;<p> <p> Complete detailed data/observation driven assessment for two oral and tree written reports;<p> <p> Instructs and supports instruction of identified students, using proven teaching methods<p> <p> Takes the lead on I.E.P development, collaboration and implementation;<p> <p> Schedules and coordinates relevant support staff effectively;<p> <p> Administers tests to evaluate students? progress, records results, and issues reports to inform parents of progress;<p> <p> Maintains discipline in instructional setting by applying disciplinary measures when necessary;<p> <p> Meets with students, parents, and School based team to discuss student progress and goals;<p> <p> Participates in other staff and professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops;<p> <p> Performs related duties, for example sponsoring one or more activities or student organizations, assisting pupils in selecting course of study, and counselling students in adjustment and academic problems and providing student encouragement and guidance;<p> <p> Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment;<p> <p> Update all necessary records accurately and completely as required by laws, school policies, and clubs;<p> <p> Participate in extracurricular activities such as DPR, Physical Education, social activities, sporting activities, and clubs;<p> <p> Keep up to date with developments in subject area, teaching resources and methods and make re
