As our new Medical Office Assistant, your role will involve a variety of engaging tasks, and every day will bring something new and rewarding. *Daily tasks of our Medical Office Assistants include, but are not limited to: *
-Answering telephones, sanitizing & filling exam rooms, greeting patients, and updating/maintaining patient medical records.
-Processing billings, handling correspondence, scheduling appointments, and arranging for referral services.
-Clinical duties such as performing EKG, spirometry, taking patient?s heights and weights, preparing patients for examination, and assisting physicians during examinations as needed.
-Maintaining strict confidentiality according to the Personal Health Information Act (PHIA)
-Working with medical staff to ensure quality patient care and service.
-Assist with small projects as required by other administrative support
- Uphold and promote the organization's values and philosophy relating particularly to ethics, morality, and integrity as set out in Medigroup's Code of Conduct.
*Essential Requirements:*
*AVAILABILITY: Monday-Friday between 8:00am-6:30pm Saturdays 9:00am-4:00pm*
-Highschool diploma or equivalent
-Strong organizational and time-management skills
-Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to multi-task
-Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
-Skills in developing and maintaining effective relationships with staff, patients, and medical personnel
*Asset Qualifications: *
-Input Health EMR experience is preferred
-Certificate of Medical Administrative Assistant/Clinical Office Assistant or equivalent preferred
-Knowledge of computer systems and applications, MS-Office, Windows etc.
-Able to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple interruptions.
-Verbal and written communication skills.
-Strong organizational and time-management skills.
-Experience providing service to members of the public
