Aggregate data will be stored anonymously to support improvements to the Board?s hiring processes. <p>Applications for the position of LINC & ESL Supply Instructors are being accepted by the Continuing Education department of Waterloo Catholic District School Board.<p> <p>G eneral Description of the Program: <p><p> FREE English language training program<p><p><p> Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) Funded by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).<p><p><p> English as a Second Language (ESL) . Funded by the Ontario Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services.<p><p><p> You will report to the Program Managers of the CNC/LINC/ESL Program <p><p> <p>General Description of Duties: <p><p> Preparing and delivering Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) level appropriate lessons based on the ESL/LINC guidelines <p><p><p> Implementing PBLA (Portfolio Based Language Assessment) <p><p><p> Providing learner-centered language instruction using resources and activities sensitive to cultural differences, equity, and inclusivity <p><p><p> Assessing learners? needs, development, and skill levels in accordance with CLB guidelines using CLB based assessment tools <p><p><p> Using an online platform for posting learning materials (Avenue, Google classroom, etc.) in an in-person or remote situation. <p><p><p> Supporting students to do their work using Chromebooks in both in-person and remote learning scenarios. <p><p><p> Using professionally acceptable and effective classroom management strategies following LINC/ESL procedures <p><p><p> Sharing community support contact information with students <p><p><p> Administrative duties as required such as HARTS attendance, etc.<p><p> <p>Note : All in person and online classes are taught at the school by the instructor <p><p>M inimum Requirements: <p><p> Current TESL Ontario Accredited Certification (or proof of application)<p><p><p> Recent Canadian Language Benchmarks training or willingness to complete <p><p><p> Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written English <p><p> <p>Desirable Assets: <p><p> Experience teaching in an ESL setting <p><p><p> Experience working with adult learners <p><p><p> Completed PBLA training or willingness to complete training <p><p><p> Knowledge of Avenue, Google Classroom and/or other platforms for learning <p><p><p> Comfortable using and learning more technology for teaching English <p><p> <p>Location: St. Louis Adult Learning & Adult Education Centres<p> Various Campuses - Kitchener, ON <p> <p>Program Hours: Morning, afternoon, evening<p> <p>Rate of Pay: $39.13 per hours plus vacation and Statutory pay<p> <p>Qualified applicants are invited to submit a resume and covering letter.
