Responsibilities
Tasks

Take measurement to determine size and shape of dentures

Make impression and mould of teeth, gums and jaws

Construct dentures

Fit, adjust and repair dentures

Perform denture whitening and cleaning

Prepare partial dentures

Re-line and re-base dentures
-
Fabricate mouth protectors, anti-snoring prostheses and removable prostheses on implants
-
Write fabrication instructions or prescriptions for use by denturists and dental technicians

Take dental impressions

Prepare wax bite-blocks and impression trays

Polish and buff dentures
-
Mould wax over dentures set-up

Pack plastic material in moulds to form full or partial dentures

Take preliminary impressions for diagnostic casts

Examine the patient
