Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work setting: Construction. Tasks: Prepare and lay bricks, concrete blocks, structural tiles or other masonry units. Estimate materials, tools and equipment required for projects . Lay bricks, stone or similar materials to provide veneer facing. Construct and install prefabricated masonry units. Prepare tenders and quotations. Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages. Instruct apprentices. Lay bricks or other masonry units to build residential or commercial chimneys and fireplaces. Restore, clean or paint existing masonry structures. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Handling heavy loads. Standing for extended periods. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Personal suitability: Accurate. Client focus. Efficient interpersonal skills. Excellent written communication. Team player. Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year.
