<p> Competition # 24-36 <p> Maintenance - 20 hrs. per week <p> Tahltan School, Telegraph Creek <p> School District 87 serves students and families on the unceded traditional territories of the Tahltan, Kaska and Tlingit First Nations and we honour these relationships. It is with respectful consideration that the programs and services provided to students and staff acknowledge their histories, cultural contributions, and contemporary concerns.<p> The Stikine is a progressive northern School District in British Columbia offering a top salary scale with an excellent benefit package. This continuing position is 20 hours per week at $39.91 per hour.<p> The incumbent must have knowledge, skills & abilities in the following areas:<p> - valid Class 5 or 7 B.C. driver's license.<p> - competent in the use and care of tools and equipment common to this position.<p> - be able to work both independently and as a team member.<p> - ability to read and understand labels and instructions, particularly on the use and application of cleaning chemicals and products.<p> - effective verbal and listening communications skills.<p> - ability to work with little or no supervision.<p> - physically capable of performing all assigned duties (including walking, standing, stooping, reaching, lifting, moving furniture, and carrying equipment & materials).<p> - ability to make decisions, solve problems and manage time effectively.<p> - knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System.<p> - familiar with general principles and practices of facility operation.<p> - provides skilled trades services related to the maintenance and upkeep of school buildings, grounds, and equipment.<p> - responsible for snow removal in the winter.<p> Salary and benefits are as provided in the Collective Agreement between the Stikine School Board and C.U.P.E.
