Golden Lake Estates Ltd. is a Land Development Company with several subdivisions and subdivision roads in the south-western part of Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia. We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team (NOC 73400). The ideal candidate is responsible for checking, maintaining, and plowing our subdivision roads as well as maintaining the equipment. The position requires the ability to work independently and in a safe manner.We are located at 157 Mash Lane, West Bay, Nova Scotia, B0E 3K0. This is a permanent, year-round, position.Responsibilities:Operate heavy equipment such as heavy-duty trucks and tractors to move, load and grade gravel or other materials during road maintenance and related activitiesOperate excavating equipment to deepen or reopen ditchesOperate heavy equipment to lay, spread or compact gravel during road maintenanceOperate heavy equipment to move, load and unload cargo like snow, gravel etc.Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment and clean, lubricate and refill equipmentEnsure equipment is maintained and operated in a safe mannerFollow project plans and instructions from supervisorSecure special attachments to equipmentOperate snow plow for snow removal and road sandingMonitoring of road conditionsSkills/Requirements:At least 5 years' experience operating heavy equipmentHigh school diplomaPrevious experience operating snow removal equipmentAbility to work independently and self-responsible to relieve the ownersValid driver's licenceMechanical knowledge for basic troubleshooting and maintenanceAttention to detailHours:This position is a full-time, permanent, position for 35 hours per week.Schedule:Monday - Friday, weekends, flexible, on callWorksite Environment:Indoors and outdoors, inclement weatherDustyNoisyLocation:The location of work is 157 Mash Lane, West Bay, B0E 3K0, Nova Scotia as well as out of office work for checking, maintaining and plowing subdivisions.How to Apply:Qualified applicants, please send your application and your possible start date via email to:Golden Lake Estates Ltd.Attn.: Alexandra Mashaghatie-mail: mail@goldenlakeestates.caphone: 902-302-9489- LocationWest Bay, NS
