The Simcoe County District School Board is accepting applications for the following position:<p>2024-2025 Night School Teaching Positions- Semester 2 <p>Reporting to the Principal of Adult and Continuing Education, the Night School teacher will be responsible for the instructional delivery of twice weekly classes (Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday). Teachers will be responsible for all aspects of credit-earning secondary school courses, including record keeping and final reporting for their assigned course. Teachers should be comfortable teaching in face-to-face, eLearning and hybrid formats. <p>Intermediate/Senior Qualifications required in subject area<p>Special Education qualification preferred<p>Teaching and Learning Through eLearning AQ preferred<p>Dates: <p>Semester 2: February 10, 2025 to June 18, 2025<p>Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday night - dependent on course <p>Teacher Location: Remote (Barrie Learning Centre available as needed) <p>Courses: <p>Math: <p>MCV4U<p>Science: <p>SCH4U<p>SPH4U<p>**** Other subjects may be required so applicants interested are encouraged to apply. <p>Key Competencies: <p>Successful applicants for the Night School Teacher position will demonstrate evidence of: ?Ability to integrate technology in daily practice<p> ?A deep understanding of online learning pedagogy<p> ?Collaboration and teamwork with colleagues<p> ?Excellent oral and written communication skills<p> ?Thorough knowledge of the Ontario Curriculum, Growing Success and the School Effectiveness Framework Major Responsibilities for Night School Teachers: ?3 hours of instruction twice a week from 6 pm - 9 pm remotely or at the Barrie Learning Centre (if reliable internet and/or environment is required)<p> ?Implementing effective student assessment practices (e.g. descriptive feedback)<p> ?Enhance curriculum-based content to integrate differentiated instructional strategies designed to improve student engagement and foster deeper learningAll Night School teaching positions will be available only if the minimum registration numbers are attained.
