Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work site environment: Corn farming. Hay farming. Other grain farming. Other miscellaneous crop farming. All weather conditions. Work setting: Rural area. Staff accommodation available. Staff accommodation provided. Room and board provided. Tasks: Mixing fertilizer. Monitoring animal health. Fertilize and spray crops. Harvest crops. Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment. Co-ordinate and supervise the work of general farm workers and harvesting labourers. Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed. Formulate feeding program. Maintain livestock performance records. Maintain quality control and production records. Supervise and oversee growing and other crop-related operations. Maintain work records and logs. Hire and train staff. Perform general farm duties. Examine product for quality and its readiness for the market. Write daily basic progress reports. Soil fertility programs. Equipment and machinery experience: Fertilizer applicator. Seed drill. Tractor. Combine harvester. Farm truck. Forage equipment. Haying equipment. Loader. Manure spreader. Planting equipment. Swather. Tillage equipment. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Work under pressure. Tight deadlines. Attention to detail.
