Windigo Education Board is seeking a dedicated Special Education/Physical Education Teacher to join our team at Bimaychikamah School in Slate Falls Nation, ON, for the current 2024-2025 school year. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a vibrant Oji-Cree community.<p>Location: Slate Falls Nation, ONAbout Us Windigo Education Board serves over 400 students across four First Nations communities. Our schools provide quality education rooted in land-based teachings, activities, and values that support student growth through collaboration between school, family, and community.<p>Responsibilities Design and deliver comprehensive physical education curriculum for all grade levels<p> Incorporate Indigenous games and activities into the PE program<p> Organize and supervise intramural sports and fitness activities<p> Collaborate with classroom teachers to promote overall student health and well-being<p> Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment<p> Assess and evaluate student progressThe SERT will work closely with the principal and In-School Support Team to:Develop and deliver specialized educational programs<p>Provide team consultation, communication, and liaison<p>Conduct student assessmentsQualifications Bachelor of Education degree<p> Special Education Qualifications<p> Member in good standing with Ontario College of Teachers (OCT)<p> Experience working with Indigenous students preferredBenefits Relocation assistance and airfare to/from community<p> Travel benefit for Christmas holiday<p> One AQ course paid for annually<p> Comprehensive benefits package including pension, insurance, and medical coveragePlease ensure your application is updated with the following: 1.
