Whether youre in the classroom, on the playing fields, in the office or in the cafeteria, we know its the dedicated staff who bring our mission to life you are what creates a childs school experience, and contribute to students reaching their full potential.<p>We proudly serve over 40,000 students across almost 100 elementary and secondary schools in Niagara, located between Lake Erie in the South and Lake Ontario to the North.<p>POSITION: Elementary Occasional TeacherLOCATION: DSBN Elementary Schools in Niagara Region<p>RATE OF PAY: $271.81 daily rate of pay (includes 4% vacation pay)<p>SCHEDULE: 10 months per year (September June) on an as needed basis<p>Position Summary: <p>The DSBN is seeking qualified, and soon-to-be qualified, Elementary Occasional Teacher candidates who provide evidence of meaningful experiences working with children and/or youth. These experiences may include paid, volunteer, and practicum experience. Occasional Teachers work in a variety of schools throughout the Niagara region gaining valuable teaching experience and supporting the needs of students across the system. Qualifications: Good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers;Conditions of Employment: Maintain good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers;<p> Upon hire, provide a Criminal Background Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening (dated within six months);<p> Agreement to comply with the Boards policies, procedures and code of conduct;<p> Successful completion of a probationary period in accordance with the Collective Agreement;<p> Work a minimum of fifteen (15) teaching days in an academic school year;<p> Complete an annual offence declaration process.Application Process: All applications are accepted through ApplyToEducation;<p> Applications packages should include: <p> Covering Letter<p> Resume<p> Practice Teaching Reports or most recent Teacher Performance Appraisal<p> Reference Letters Selection Process: <p>The DSBN is committed to equity, inclusion and anti-racism and strives to hire educators who demonstrate this commitment.
