Dairy Lane Systems started in 1990 as a Surge milking equipment dealer. Since that time, we have expanded our scope to include automated milking robots, stabling, manure management, plumbing and ventilation services. Most recently, we acquired 2 milking equipment dealerships in Western Canada. In addition to the milking equipment sales, service and installation business, we are also involved in the design, build and operation of renewable energy biogas plants (DLS Biogas), the construction of agricultural structures (DLS Structures) and the manufacturing of dairy farm equipment (DLS Manufacturing). We have grown steadily over the last 30+ years by focusing on our customers long-term success. Today, the DLS group of companies (DLS) employ over 140 team members. We know our people are our greatest asset and we provide the opportunity to have a career, not just a job. *Position Summary* This position will be responsible for planning and overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations of the organization, including, reporting, analysis, and compliance to support our growing company. The successful candidate will have a strong background in accounting, preparing financial documents and leading the finance team. This position will report directly to the CFO. *Responsibilities* Planning, directing, and coordinating all accounting operational functions Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results Reducing the time to complete the month-end close process Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial reports Coordinating activities of external accountants Providing management with information vital to the decision-making process Assist in the annual budget process Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement, and implementing new processes Develop and implement financial policies and procedures as needed Evaluating accounting and internal control systems Willingness to be involved with day-to-day tasks and to immerse themselves with the team Improving the effectiveness of the accounting software/database stack, as needed Overseeing regulatory reporting, including monthly remittances, tax planning and compliance Day-to-day treasury functions, maintaining a rolling cash flow forecast Develop and implement company-wide spending limits Manage, mentor, and personally support the finance function *Qualifications* 5 years or more work experience at a Financial Management level Accounting designation preferred (CPA, CMA, CGA) Preference will be given to candidates with SAP Business One experience Ability to perform detailed work and create strategies to advance the department Worked in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines Excellent written and verbal skills Ability to multitask and prioritize Supervisory experience (6+ direct reports) Proven analytical skills and experience implementing, monitoring, and reporting on company metrics *We are Pleased to Offer* Comprehensive benefits package Competitive pay (commensurate with experience) Company events (Christmas party, summer BBQ) A fun, challenging, engaging and REWARDING work environment DLS is committed to providing accommodation for individuals with disabilities throughout the recruitment process.
