Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Animal hospital. Tasks: Handle, restrain and care for animals undergoing treatment and surgery. Assist veterinarian before, during and after surgery. Administer treatments as prescribed by veterinarian. Conduct and assist in laboratory research. May perform a variety of office management and clerical duties. Provide nursing care and rehabilitation therapy for animals. Provide wound and bandage care. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Physically demanding.
