*Job Purpose*
Harbourside Organix is seeking a professional, experienced, and dedicated Millwright to join our successful team.
This position is responsible for the repair, maintenance, installation and more for all equipment and infrastructure, and is responsible for supporting all functions and departments in the Harbourside Organix facility. This position will ensure the efficient and safe operation of all equipment, machinery, and infrastructure.
*Responsibilities and Duties*
* Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Install, troubleshoot, and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment
* Inspect and examine machinery and heavy equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions
* Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts
* Fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up of machinery
* Perform scheduled, emergency, and preventative maintenance, as well as general repairs, overhauls, installs, dismantles, etc.
* Follow all mechanical and electrical work instructions and procedures
* Read mechanical drawings, blueprints, schematic drawings to determine work procedure
* Coordination and work with service contractors to maintain the building and heavy equipment
* Operate man lift machines and power machines
* Recommend system and parts modifications, repairs or replacement changes in materials and improvements in methods to both the Maintenance and Operations Manager
* Adhere to all relevant Health & Safety and legislative requirements. Including participating in H&S meetings, monthly inspections and complying with OHSA assisting with on-site inspections
* Procurement of supplies, materials, equipment, and other inventory
* Other duties as assigned by your Manager
This position reports to the General Manager.
*Education and Experience Requirements*
* 433A Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) license/certification or equivalent
* 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
*Qualifications and Attributes*
* Proven experience in industrial maintenance.
* Proficiency in reading technical drawings.
* Experience in manufacturing, industrial, construction or a related industry.
* Proficient with MS Office.
* Previous experience with heavy equipment, electrical and HVAC systems.
* Knowledge of PLCs and SCADA controls
* Welding and fabrication an asset
* Able to maintain service standards and complete work orders in a timely manner
* Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Team player and supportive attitude
* Basic automation troubleshooting experience
* Flexible to work overtime, weekends as needed
*Physical and Working Conditions*
* Lifting up to 30 lb.
* Working at heights and confined spaces
* Regular schedule is Monday ? Friday for a total of 44 hours/week.
* Some overtime required.
* Occasional Saturday shifts are required (half day maintenance and statutory holiday work week adjustments).
* Shared on-call responsibilities.
