Little Sprouts Christian Preschool seeks to grow its team of educators. We are currently looking for individuals with Responsible Adult (RA), Early Childhood Educational Assistant (ECEA), and/or Early Childhood Educator (ECE) certifications. We also ask that all applicants have their first aid certification and a clear CRC and be willing to provide references. Applicants must also be willing to provide a pastoral reference indicating their involvement in their church and a testament to their faith. Please see a brief job description of an ECE below: <p> Primary Responsibilities: <p><p> <p> Being present with the children<p> <p> <p> Assist children with tasks <p> <p> <p> Assist in classroom management and dealing with behaviours <p> <p> <p> Redirecting when necessary <p> <p> <p> <p> <p> Circle time <p> <p> <p> Sitting with children <p> <p> <p> <p> <p> Assisting with toileting, eating, and resting times. <p> <p> <p> <p> <p> <p> Collaborate with the Program Director and other teachers<p> <p> <p> <p> Adhering to Licensing policies <p> <p> <p> Positive Child Guidance <p> <p> <p> Ensure their certifications are up to date <p> <p> <p> Pursue professional development opportunities <p> <p> <p> Assist with monthly Fire drills and quarterly Earthquake drills<p> <p> <p> <p> <p> <p> Communication: <p> <p> <p> Communicating with families at pick up and drop off. <p> <p> <p> Communicating with the Program Director any necessary information about children and/or their families <p> <p> <p> Recording all information that staff need to know in the communications binder. <p> <p> <p> Including any and/or all incidents that must be communicated to families. <p> <p> <p> <p> <p> Check the communication binder at the start of the shift. <p> <p> <p> <p><p> <p> <p>Secondary Responsibilities: <p><p> <p> Assist in the daily operation of the preschool, which includes: <p> <p> <p> Assist in performing a safety check <p> <p> <p> Water and Playground <p> <p> <p> <p> <p> Assist with classroom cleaning. <p> <p> <p> Assist in managing supplies and inventory <p> <p> <p> Assist in ensuring that the property is well-maintained. <p> <p> <p> Assist with daily attendance. <p> <p> <p> <p> <p> Leading circle and planning activities when the Program director is absent due to illness and /or vacation. <p> <p><p><p><p> Requirements: <p><p> <p> Early Childhood Education Certification (1 year or 5 years) <p> <p> <p> A Clear Ministry of Justice Criminal Record Check <p> <p> <p> First Aid Certification with CPR-C and AED <p> <p> <p> Love for Jesus and attending a church <p> <p> <p> Love for children and a passion for teaching <p> <p> <p> Flexibility in working with children, other educators, and the Program Director <p> <p> <p> Teachability and ability to learn from co-workers- LocationComox, BC
