POSITION: Junior School Teacher - temporary <p>ASSIGNMENT: French as a Second Language, Career Education (Gr 8-9). This position has an FLS 8 focus and may include Career Education, and/or POD support as part of this position. There is also a student support block as part of this position. <p>FTE: 1.0 <p>LOCATION: Quesnel Junior School <p>EFFECTIVE DATES: Commencing October 28, 2024 until June 30, 2025, or earlier depending on the return of the incumbent <p>Basic Qualification: A successful candidate will hold a valid BC Teaching Certificate and be a member in good standing in the BC Ministry of Education, Teacher Regulation Branch AND possess one or more of the following:<p>Training Specialization: <p><p> Secondary Education with a major/minor in French as a Second Language <p><p>Related Teaching Experience: Recent successful experience teaching at the junior school level<p>A Reasonable Expectation: based on a teacher's skills, abilities, professional development, and overall classroom teaching experience, that the teacher will be able to perform the duties in a successful manner in collaboration with other professional staff.<p>Additional Qualifications: <p><p> Two or more courses at the 100 or 200 level in French<p> Fluency in French/English - oral and written - applicant must be willing to take a language proficiency test - or and written. <p><p>Other: <p><p> Commitment to the house-based team structure<p> Fluent in English and French Speaker<p> A portion of the interview may be conducted in French<p><p> The starting annual salary for the full-time Teacher ranges from $61,175 to $109,520 with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.
