CROSSING GUARD ON-CALL <p>ONE POSITION FOR THE SCHOOL DISTRICT.<p>1.5 HOURS PER DAY (45 in the morning and afternoon)<p> QUALIFICATIONS AS PER JOB DESCRIPTION.<p><p><p><p> Completion of Grade 12 plus up to one month experience or training with an experienced crossing guard.<p> <p> <p> Patience with, and care for, students and a demonstrated aptitude for the work to be performed.<p> <p> <p> An ability to work well with other adults.<p> <p> <p> A desire to help children.<p> <p> <p> Self-assurance and a well-modulated voice with the ability to speak fluently and communicate well.<p> <p> <p> Appreciation of the confidential nature of all information relating to students, parents and teachers.<p> <p> <p> Completion of Adult School Crossing Guard Workshop Booklet.<p><p> <p>RESPONSIBLE TO: Principal<p>SUPERVISES: N/A<p>JOB GOAL: To assist in providing a well-organized, supervised school environment.<p> <p>Performance Responsibilities:<p><p> Ensure student safety at school crosswalks including the ability to manage behaviours of children/adults.<p> <p> <p> Monitors students before, during or after school, making sure the school grounds are clear and all students leave the property.<p> <p> <p> Completes discipline reports to the school PVP in a timely manner.<p><p> <p> 4. Dispenses first aid supplies (e.g., band aids, ice packs)<p> <p> 5. Reports traffic violations and other community behaviour within the community.<p> <p> 6. Performs other assigned duties that are within the area of knowledge and skills required by the job description.<p>TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Ten months. <p><p>The starting hourly rate for this on-call position is $29 per hour as per the collective agreement. <p><p>Please note that failure to attach all pertinent information (i.e.: certificates, outline of relevant experience, resume, etc.) to demonstrate that you are qualified may exclude you from this posting.- LocationVictoria, BC
