Support substitutes are called to work on an as needed basis, at any of our schools. <p>You must be available to work throughout the 2024-2025 school year, be accessible by telephone and internet, and provide your own transportation. Interviews will be held in person or via Zoom on an as needed basis. <p>Successful candidates will possess: <p><p> Positive references <p> Outstanding interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills<p> Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills<p> Ability to keep up-to-date with changing technology<p> Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as cooperatively with a team of educational professionals <p> Understanding of and commitment to supporting learning initiatives<p> Ability to work with other staff members to create a positive, safe, and optimal learning environment<p> Capacity to establish a rapport with students<p> Ability to provide assistance to students as identified in their individualized programming plans (IPP) including those that require additional supports (i.e. personal care, toileting and feeding) as a Learning Assistant<p><p>Education/Experience: <p><p> Education Assistant Certificate or enrolled/willing to enroll in an education assistant program<p> Training in preventative/de-escalating behaviour course or willingness to become certified<p> Training or experience working with students with extreme and complex behavioral and emotional needs in an educational setting<p><p>Support Substitute Expectations: <p><p> There is no minimum day availability required to be a support substitute (Learning Assistant) with Rocky View Schools<p> There is no minimum geographical area selection required<p><p>The successful candidate must submit a current Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check within 30 days of the start of your employment. <p>Open to: Internal and External applicants<p>How to Apply: <p>We request all applications be placed through http://rockyview.simplication.com/.
