Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work setting: General manufacturing. Tasks: Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables. Set up and adjust production machineries/tools. Fit and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerance. Maintain, repair and calibrate precision measuring instruments. Document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances. Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports. Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers). Set up and operate conventional and computer controlled machine tools. Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Machinist Trade Certification. Measuring tools: Micrometers. Callipers. Gauges. Equipment and machinery experience: Drill presses. Engine lathes. Milling machines. Sawing machine. Surface grinders. Use computer numerical control (CNC) machines. Computer-aided design (CAD). Work conditions and physical capabilities: Repetitive tasks. Physically demanding. Standing for extended periods. Attention to detail. Weight handling: Up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs). Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Personal suitability: Accurate. Dependability.
