Ready to Make an impact?Responsible to support the front end manager in the overall operation of the front end department including providing management and leadership to Front End staff . Ensure operational excellence in retail merchandising, inventory management, and customer relations. Work closely with the Front End Manager to coach and develop the team to provide superior customer service and shopping experiences through execution of strategy, customized for the local market while achieving budgeted financial results. Actively contributes to an environment of employee and customer engagement.Here's where you'll be focusing:People Leadership Create a coaching and development culture for all department employees, which embraces a passion for foodManage department personnel which includes scheduling, recruitment, performance management and trainingResponsible for ensuring the communication of operational requirements/changes to front-end department employeesCustomer Offering Create a shopping experience that engages customers in a way that enhances loyalty, sales and profitProvide customer service to meet customer needs Merchandises front end racks and fixtures along with ordering of productOrder and maintain inventoryProcess and resolve customer concerns and requestsExecute winning conditionsExecute SMART InitiativesPolicy/Regulatory Adherence Ensure all applicable company policies and procedures are communicated and adheredResponsible for ensuring that OH&S, Food Safety, and other regulatory requirements and procedures, are implemented and maintainedFinancial Perform department administrative duties as requiredResponsible for ensuring efficient operation of the department to achieve all financial targets and deliver on budgeted KPIsBalance cash office according to company policies and proceduresPerform negative tracking procedures through NavistorIdentify and correct cash discrepanciesPerform payroll functionsPersonal/ Professional DevelopmentThoroughly understand all relevant company programs, attend training as requiredMaintain knowledge of current industry trendsEmployee EngagementBe known as the employer of choice by actively supporting an environment of employee engagementOther Duties Coordinate maintenance of department equipment and repairsProvide feedback for continuous improvementAs requested by companyWhat you have to offer:Ability to work independently in a fast paced environmentAbove average communication skills (oral and written)Full knowledge of department operations and skillsProficient use of Microsoft Office SuiteFull knowledge of total store operations and skillsHigh school diplomaMinimum of 18 months of experience working in the front-end departmentAt Sobeys we require our teammates to have the ability to adhere to a hybrid work model that requires your presence at one of our office locations at least three days per week.
