*About the job*
The ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual who can work under the direction of a Senior Design Engineers and/or Principals to assist in designing reinforced concrete structures (primarily high-rise residential and mixed-use buildings), steel structures, masonry and/or timber structures from proposal phase to construction administration.
*Responsibilities:*
* Work under the direction of Senior Structural Design Engineers and/or Principals to assist in designing reinforced concrete structures (primarily high-rise residential and mixed-use buildings), steel structures, masonry and/or timber structures.
* Prepare structural design calculations, drawings, specifications, design analysis, and construction cost estimates.
* Apply standard engineering techniques and assist in maintaining a high level of service for the Structural practice at 95 Development Inc.
* Perform construction-related services including shop drawing reviews, response to requests for information, periodic construction site visits to gather relative information, and document observations.
* Collaborate with architects and MEP engineers and building contractors on the design and construction of projects.
* Projects will start with the basics and increase in variety of materials and complexity with experience.
* Other duties directed by Principals as required.
*Qualifications:*
* Must possess a strong work ethic, capable of following directions and employing effective time management skills.
* Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work on multiple projects during a specified time frame.
* Willingness to learn and ask questions as required in a timely manner.
* Ability to collaborate with colleagues in a teamwork environment.
* Efficient communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
* Working knowledge of ETABS, SAFE, and S-Concrete.
* Working knowledge of Bluebeam.
* Basic knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit is considered an asset.
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
* Able to work additional overtime hours when required.
* A valid Ontario Drivers Licence is considered an asset.
* Bachelor?s degree in civil (Structural) Engineering from an accredited University.
* Master or higher degree is considered an asset.
* Design and/or construction experience in bridges is considered an asset.
* Candidates with two years or less related work experience will be considered as Jr. Structural Engineer.
* Candidates with three to five years (or more) related work experience with a P.Eng License will be considered an Intermediate Structural Engineer.
