Kelly Cove Salmon Ltd., a division of Cooke Aquaculture Inc., a dynamic and growing East Coast family company, with Platinum Member status in Canada's Best Managed Companies Program, is offering a unique opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join the Company's team as a Hatchery Maintenance Support for our new State of the Art Facility in Pennfield, N.B. area. Cooke is a global seafood company with operations in North America, Europe, and South America. The Role Positions offer full-time, year-round employment. Primary duties include: ? Responsible for maintenance checks of the entire site as needed (daily, weekly, monthly) ? Perform installation, maintenance, and repair on equipment. ? Troubleshoot problems and provide recommendations for problem resolution. ? Assist hatchery techs and managers with fish handling equipment. ? Occasionally assist with Maintenance at other hatcheries ? Ability to operate and troubleshoot the effluent system. ? Respond to emergency maintenance repair requests as required - including weekends and evenings. ? Follow proper bio-security procedures and other company policies. ? Manage inventory of consumables and replacement parts. ? Arrange external contractors as needed. ? Liaise with other project and maintenance groups as appropriate. ? Develop SOPs for new equipment maintenance. ? Obtain quotes from vendors as needed. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated team player who possesses excellent problem-solving skills with a strong mechanical aptitude and basic carpentry skills. Periodic travel to interprovincial freshwater facilities and the ability to be on-call is a requirement. Preference will be given to applicants who have a background in and understanding of preventative maintenance and inventory monitoring.
