<h3>Job Description</h3><div>Job Description<div><p><strong>Job Title:</strong> IT Manager</p><p><strong>Location:</strong> Primarily based in Mississauga with travel requirements to Genpak plants across Canada and the USA as needed.</p><p><strong>Job Summary</strong></p><p>The IT Manager will oversee and manage the technology infrastructure across Genpak's facilities, ensuring efficient, secure, and reliable systems to support business operations. This role involves hands-on technical work, strategic planning, budget management, and team coordination to optimize IT performance across all sites. The IT Manager will collaborate with the corporate head office in North Carolina to address company-wide IT initiatives and resolve issues escalated by users across Canadian plants.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ol><li><strong>IT Infrastructure Management</strong><ul><li>Oversee the installation, configuration, maintenance, and upgrading of hardware, software, networks, and security systems.</li><li>Maintain and troubleshoot systems and devices, including engineering servers, FedEx and UPS PCs, phone systems (LAN and Rogers cellular accounts), Internet devices, network cabling, and Eaton UPS systems.</li><li>Ensure backup systems are reliable and coordinate with head office for secure data backup solutions.</li></ul></li><li><strong>IT Support and Troubleshooting</strong><ul><li>Act as the first point of contact for IT issues from Canadian users, escalating complex problems to the head office.</li><li>Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and training to end-users across various Genpak plants.</li><li>Regularly assess system performance and identify opportunities to enhance overall efficiency and reliability.</li></ul></li><li><strong>Inventory and Equipment Management</strong><ul><li>Procure, package, and ship IT equipment to Genpak facilities as needed.</li><li>Approve invoices, manage returns, and maintain inventory of IT assets across Canadian plants.</li><li>Manage software licenses for essential applications (e.g., BarTender, LabelView, AutoCAD LT) and ensure compliance across all facilities.</li></ul></li><li><strong>Budget and Cost Management</strong><ul><li>Maintain and monitor IT budget spreadsheets for all Canadian Genpak plants.</li><li>Ensure cost-effective use of resources by optimizing spending on technology solutions.</li><li>Prepare reports and recommend improvements to balance cost and performance.</li></ul></li><li><strong>Documentation and Compliance</strong><ul><li>Maintain documentation of IT assets, including hardware, software licenses, and warranty records.</li><li>Ensure compliance with security protocols and maintain up-to-date security certificates.</li><li>Prepare engineering data backups and coordinate offsite storage for insurance purposes.</li></ul></li><li><strong>Collaboration and Communication</strong><ul><li>Work closely with head office in North Carolina, and with IT staff at various Genpak facilities, to address technology needs and ensure consistent IT practices.</li><li>Communicate effectively with department heads and users across all plants to understand and address their technical needs.</li></ul></li></ol><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li><strong>Education:</strong> Bachelor's degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field. Certifications in coding, data science, or cloud computing are a plus.</li><li><strong>Experience:</strong> Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT management or related roles, ideally in a multi-site environment.</li><li><strong>Skills:</strong><ul><li>Strong understanding of computer hardware, software, cabling, and network security.</li><li>Team management and leadership skills, with experience training and overseeing IT staff.</li><li>Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.</li><li>Proficiency in budgeting and cost management.</li><li>Ability to communicate technical information to non-
