Position: Security Team LeadSite: CF - Shops at Don MillsCity: North York, ON Status: Full-TimeHours: Continental Days - 0600-1800Pay Rate: $20.60Averaging Agreement: Overtime is Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hoursPosting Date: November 5, 2024Posting Closing Date: November 22, 2024Site Description: Shops at Don Mills is located at Don Mills and Lawrence Avenue East in Toronto, Ontario. With 72 stores, this is a lifestyle shopping centre. Anchored around fashion, dining and entertainment, Shops at Don Mills makes shopping a delight. Job Description: Working on assigned shifts, you will provide proactive and reactive security patrols and response to incidents. You will be required to write reports and investigate routine incidents, as well as respond to emergencies in a quick and efficient manner. Duties & Responsibilities:Assist the Site Supervisor with day-to-day reporting and daily operations Assist in leading a team of 2-6 guards. Must have strong leadership skills Must demonstrate strong interpersonal skillsMust demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills Maintain compliance with and enforce property standards, rules, and regulations in a reasonable mannerAble to use tact and diplomacy in dealings across a range of settings and situationsRespond to medical emergencies and provide first aid, CPR, or AED support until medical professionals arriveAbility to maintain and enforce access control proceduresSolid understanding of emergency and standard operating proceduresDeal with trespassers and unauthorized persons found on the property, fairly and safely, by enforcing the Trespass to Property ActAssist with Fire & Life Safety inspectionsMaintain a detailed memo book and prepare incident reports on all matters dealt with using CF's standard report-writing programConduct periodic patrols of property either by foot or by vehicle. Investigate incidents and occurrencesDraft detailed incident and occurrence reportsMaintain the peace, safety, and security of all patrons, and clients on the property Monitor CCTV surveillance systems De-escalate emergency / crisis situationsAssist emergency and law enforcement personnel Access control, line management, customer serviceAssist with daily operations as needed/required or directed. Must be comfortable working both indoors and outdoors as needed in changing environments. Must be able to conduct extensive patrols both on foot and by vehicle. (Standing, and walking, for an extended period is required) Other duties as outlined by management Qualifications: Must be willing and able to stand, walk, patrol by foot and vehicle for extended periods (8-12 hours) Must demonstrated a high degree of professionalismMust have 1 year of leadership/ supervisory experience or equivalent* Must have at least 2 years of mall security or relevant experienceMust have a G-class driver's license with a clear driver's abstract. Must be willing and able to provide a recent and valid vulnerable sector check, criminal background check, and driver's abstract as required. Must have strong verbal and written communication skills Must have a strong command and fluency in the English language both written and verbal Must be able to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment both indoors and outdoors as required.
