<p><p> <p>POSTED: November 5, 2024 <p>CLOSING DATE: November 10, 2024 <p>COMPETITION: 2024-117 <p> <p> <p>INTERMEDIATE TEACHER <p>Full-time (1.0 FTE) position<p>West Bay IB World School<p>Effective immediately until June 30, 2025<p> <p>The annual salary for a full-time teaching position ranges from $59,711 to $109,520, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. The salary will be prorated based on FTE.<p> <p>Required Qualifications and Experience <p>A full-time teaching position is available at West Bay IB World School teaching lower intermediate. The successful applicant for this position must possess a Certificate of Qualification from the Teacher Regulation Branch and demonstrate evidence of the following:<p><p> have a clear understanding of the characteristics of the intermediate student and the ability to develop a positive learning environment addressing the intellectual, physical and emotional needs of this age group, preferably in an IB PYP classroom;<p> be willing to collaboratively plan units of inquiry to be taught through a guided inquiry approach;<p> have demonstrated ability and experience to teach, assess and plan an intermediate program, preferably with successful experience with the Primary Years Program; <p> be willing to attend on-going training and professional development for the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program;<p> possess strong interpersonal, communication and collaborative skills and proven ability, commitment and drive to work co-operatively and effectively with other educators in a collegial team setting;<p> possess familiarity with a Universal Design for Learning approach and a deep commitment to providing the supports and encouragement for all students to be successful; <p> knowledge and experience in adapting learning objectives and strategies to meet the needs of English Language Learners at varying levels;<p> experience and a clear understanding of social and emotional learning and self-regulation;<p> knowledge and proven experience in the area of technology including the ability to integrate various technologies into the curriculum, modes of assessment, and adapting curriculum;<p> the ability to use formative assessment practices to improve student achievement with emphasis on the BC Curriculum and web-based platforms;<p> effective classroom management skills that are student-centered and focus on relationships and authentic connections;<p> a strong commitment to positive and consistent engagement and communication with parents and other stakeholders;<p> be familiar with, and have an interest in, supporting the goals outlined in the West Vancouver Indigenous Enhancement Agreement.<p><p> <p>Why West Vancouver Schools? <p>West Vancouver Schools, the premier place for learning, has a long-held reputation for excellence and innovation.
