The Role The Director, Technology Operations is accountable for key operational programs and governance structures within the Technology department at Scotiabank. The role will build effective partnerships with CIO teams across technology, business line and corporate functions stakeholders to enable the effective and efficient technology operations. Reporting into the Vice President, Chief Operating Officer ? Technology, the Director will lead a team to identify and enable effective operational activities across Technology, Specifically, the role oversees the Technology productivity program, Enterprise Delivery Framework, W4 / Real Estate planning, and various other operational programs within Technology. Is this role right for you? Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge. Set annual goals, drive continuous improvement and effectiveness, and a great employee working experience in the achievement of Technology Operations goals and desired outcomes. Implement controls and develop metrics to measure the effectiveness of all assigned portfolio; embed a continuous improvement mindset into business-as-usual operations of these portfolios that prioritizes. Technology's strategic goals Lead the Technology Productivity Program and other financial optimization effort to close gaps to Technology operational budget targets and continuously improves financial efficiency Oversee the Bank's Enterprise Delivery Framework (EDF), ensuring that it provides a user-friendly and effective mechanism to control project and technology delivery risk according to the Bank's risk appetite Manage focused operational programs including W4, real-estate and student internship programs to ensure they continuously support Technology strategy and goals Build a high-performing technology operations team that attracts and retains talent, and ensure smooth operations through robust succession planning. Direct day-to-day activities in a manner consistent with the Bank's risk culture and the relevant risk appetite statement and limits. Communicates the Bank's risk culture and risk appetite statement throughout their teams. Create an environment in which all portfolio teams pursue effective and efficient operations in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk. Build a high performance environment and implement a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates portfolio teams by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviours; communicating vision/values/portfolio strategy; and, managing succession and development planning for the teams. Lead a team accountable for specific operational portfolios across Technology's global footprint. These portfolios include: Technology Productivity Enterprise Delivery Framework Technology Estate Technology Student Program Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? Master's degree in business or equivalent education and experience. Accounting, Project Management, or Risk Management certification is an asset Significant experience managing finance, project governance, and/or operational programs in a technology environment Significant experience with change management and operational transformation programs is an asset Demonstrated experience engaging and influencing senior level experience in large-scale, highly complex organizationsWhat's in it for you?
