National Bank of Canada, the 6th largest in Canada, is expanding rapidly and is looking to increase its team of high-caliber planning professionals.A career as a Senior Tax Advisor at National Bank Financial (NBF) primarily involves supporting NBF clients and Investment Advisors (IA) in their tax needs by providing them with general or specific information. <strong>In other words, a rare 100% consulting position, without the management of clients' tax returns! </strong>The sector's mission is to offer high-quality expertise and services in the areas of taxation, retirement and estate.</p> <p><strong>Your job</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong><span>Become one of the tax references of the client advisory team of one of the largest asset management firms in Canada!</span></strong></li> <li><span>Collaborate with your colleagues to provide high-quality tax support to IA and other stakeholders.</span></li> <li><span>Perform complex tax analyses, guide IA and their clients in resolving their tax issues/issues and refer them to external experts as needed.</span></li> <li><span>Manage multiple complex files with tight deadlines in an ever-changing environment.</span></li> <li><span>Draft and update various tax-related documents (e.g., budget summaries) to support colleagues on the advisory team, IA and their clients.</span></li> <li><span>Be a team player, maintain relationships with many internal stakeholders and collaborate as a consultant.</span></li> <li><span>When appropriate, participate in meetings with NBF clients and/or the client's external advisors.</span></li> <li><span>Understand business issues but above all participate in the development of practical and adapted solutions.</span></li> <li><span>If necessary, provide in-house tax training.</span></li> <li><span>Ensure the management of corporate risks in the context of files.</span></li> </ul> <p><strong>Prerequisites</strong></p> <ul> <li><span>Master's degree or postgraduate diploma in taxation or have successfully completed the ICCA in-depth course.</span></li> <li><span>University degree in a relevant field (law, accounting, actuarial science, finance, economics, etc.).</span></li> <li><strong><span>In-depth knowledge of the many tax rules for individuals, estates, trusts and corporations.</span></strong></li> <li><span>Approximately 10 years of relevant work experience.</span></li> <li><span>Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate complex tax concepts in a simple, comprehensive and practical manner.</span></li> </ul> <p><strong>Assets</strong></p> <ul> <li><span>Professional designation (lawyer, notary, CPA, other)</span></li> <li><span>Knowledge of wealth management, financial products, pensions, retirement and estates</span></li> <li>TEP Title</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p> </p> <strong>Your benefits</strong><div><br></div><div><br></div><div>In addition to competitive compensation, upon hiring you?ll be eligible for a wide range of flexible benefits to help promote your wellbeing and that of your family.</div><div><ul><li>Health and wellness program, including many options</li><li>Flexible group insurance</li><li>Generous pension plan</li><li>Employee Share Ownership Plan</li><li>Employee and Family Assistance Program</li><li>Preferential banking services</li><li>Opportunities to get involved in community initiatives</li><li>Telemedicine service</li><li>Virtual sleep clinic</li></ul></div><div>These are a few of the benefits available to you.
