*WELDER* At Powerline Plus Ltd., we focus on three main operations, Electrical, Civil Construction and Engineering & Design. Powerline Plus Ltd. provides quality solutions to public utilities, municipalities and developers, as well as to industrial, national and international manufacturing companies across the GTA. The Welders at Powerline Plus Ltd. cuts and joins metals and other materials at our facilities or construction sites. The Welders will operate and maintain the machines that fabricate and repair metal structures, equipment and machinery. *SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS* * _The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:_ * Completion of Secondary School * A minimum of three (3) years of work experience in the trade * Valid G? Ontario Driver?s License with clean driver?s abstract * Physically capable of meeting the job requirements; ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds, ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and safely climb a ladder *DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES* * Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications * Welding must be completed in accordance with applicable standards and procedures * Assess equipment, structures, materials, and job specifications for appropriate welding positions and methods * Set up components for welding according to specifications * Monitor equipment for appropriate usage and temperature * Maintain a clean and safe work environment and monitor work environment for hazards * Follow safety protocol, including wearing the proper PPE (ie. heat-resistant gloves, protective masks, and safety shoes) * Perform other duties as required *CORE COMPETENCIES* * Professional * Organized * Punctual * Detail Oriented * Team Player * Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines _Powerline Plus welcomes and encourages applications from people with disabilities.
