apprentice refrigeration and air conditioning mechanic

Job details
Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work site environment: Noisy. Hot. Cold/refrigerated. Odours. Outdoors. Work setting: On-site customer service. Tasks: Measure and lay out reference points for installation. Assemble and install refrigeration or air conditioning components. Measure, cut and connect piping using welding and brazing equipment. Start up system and test for leaks using testing devices. Perform maintenance such as, recharging system with refrigerant, checking and testing regulators or calibrating system. Interpret gas codes. Handle, recover and store refrigerants. Repair and replace parts and components for entire refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation or heat pump systems. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic Red Seal Certificate. Air conditioning and refrigeration systems: Rooftop (self-contained). Heat pump. Air motioning and circulation. Built up (split system). Humidification and de-humidification system. Ventilation. Cooling tower. Security and safety: Driver's validity licence check. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Handling heavy loads. Standing for extended periods. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Attention to detail. Manual dexterity. Own tools/equipment: Tools. Steel-toed safety boots. Personal suitability: Punctuality. Accurate. Client focus. Dependability.
