We invite you to use your skills with us and contribute to something meaningful and enduring.The OpportunityWe are currently seeking a Lab Coordinator to join our Port Colborne Refinery team in Port Colborne, Ontario. This is a permanent position.The Lab Coordinator provides support to the Operating units at the Refinery. The Lab Coordinator is required to be multi-skilled and able to carry out a wide variety of routine analytical techniques. In this role you will rotate through various jobs to ensure skill sets are maintained. There are multiple shift rotations at our 24/7/5 days a week operation. Your ability to troubleshoot analytical instrumentation will be viewed as an asset.Additionally, in this position you will: Set up and calibrate existing analytical instrumentation ICP-OES, ICP-MS, LECO Combustion/Fusion analysisOperation of computer programs for the calibration of analytical equipment and generation of diagnostic results.Monitoring results to assure quality and identify suspect data by applying problem solving skills, potentially re-assaying to correctTo be well versed in data management using LIMS for examination of data.Maintenance involving calibration, cleaning parts, and troubleshooting problems to ensure that the instruments stay in full working order.Generation of accurate and timely investigation based on a full understanding of the customer request.
