Settlement Worker in Schools <p>Temporary Full-time - 35 hours/week <p>Effective ASAP to March 31, 2025 <p>Burnaby, one of British Columbia's most ethnically diverse urban school districts, is seeking applications for qualified Settlement Worker s interested in a temporary full-time position until March 31, 2025. 1) Fluency in Dari and Pashto required. 2) Also looking for fluency in Tigrigna required and knowledge of Amharic language would be an asset. <p>The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications: Post-secondary degree or equivalent in related field, plus a minimum of one year related work experience or an equivalent combination of training and/or experience.<p> Demonstrated experience with students and families in a K-12 educational setting in B.C., and cross-cultural competency and understanding of child development and youth issues.<p> Fluency in English and assigned language(s).<p> Thorough knowledge and experience working in a multicultural setting.<p> Sound knowledge of negotiation, advocacy skills, conflict resolution and problem solving.<p> Thorough knowledge of immigration policies and settlement issues.<p> Sound knowledge of community and agency resources.<p> Valid BC Driver's License (class 5).<p> Current salary: $35.80/hour.Qualified applicants should send their resumes by Monday, November 18, 2024 to: <p>Human Resources Department<p>School District 41 Burnaby<p>4054 Norfolk Street, Burnaby V5G 0C3<p>Email to: applications@burnabyschools.ca<p>Please send resume and supporting documents in ONE pdf document.
