Central Okanagan Public Schools is located in the Central Okanagan encompassing the communities of Peachland, West Kelowna, Kelowna, and Lake Country. There are a total of 51 school sites with 33 Elementary Schools, 8 Middle schools, 5 Secondary Schools, 3 Learning Centres, an Alternate Education School, and an Online Learning School (K-12). We believe equity empowers each learner to thrive, holistically.<p>Central Okanagan Public Schools (School District No. 23) in Kelowna, BC invites applications from dedicated and enthusiastic professional educators for full year, full time, and part time temporary contracts.<p>Middle and Secondary School Counsellors <p>Applicants must have:<p><p> a professional teaching certificate;<p> a minimum of two years of successful classroom teaching experience;<p> a master?s degree recognized by the Teacher Regulation Branch in counselling psychology (or a related discipline with a focus in counselling);<p> training and/or experience as an Middle and Secondary School Counsellor as per School District Policy #510 and #510R;<p><p><p> be willing to work in a collaborative/team environment to implement BC's Education Plan and the Redesigned Curriculum;<p><p><p> be prepared to participate in the implementation of the school level Collaborative Model of Support and the district Strategic Plan;<p> be prepared to use technology (e.g.: computers, Smartboards, digital portfolios, voice-mail, e-mail, web sites, MyEd BC) for planning, attendance monitoring, communication, classroom instruction and reporting purposes;<p> be prepared to work positively towards the fulfillment of the School and District goals;<p><p>Preference will be given to those applicants who:<p><p> have both training and experience as a School Counsellor;<p> have experience with grades 7-12 age groupings;<p> have Indigenous ancestry (as per Special Program with the BC Human Rights Tribunal).<p><p><p>Qualified candidates are invited to complete your online application form, including a comprehensive resume (include your home phone number, cell phone number and email address) and copies of supporting documents plus three references with contact information.<p>The starting annual salary for this teaching position ranges from $57,972 to $106,217, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.<p>Please complete an on-line application and include a cover letter, resume, Undergrad degree, Bachelor of Education degree and Master's degree, along with corresponding transcripts, BC teaching certificate, TQS card, practicum or evaluation reports, and letters of reference.<p>Please contact Leanne Zorn at Leanne.zorn@sd23.bc.ca to inform her of your completed application. <p> <p>
