Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Group home. Rural area. Associations and non profit organizations. Community and social services. Tasks: Housekeeping activities. Food preparation. Supervise activities of clients living in group homes and half-way houses. Assist clients/guests with special needs. Accompany clients to appointments and social outings. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Developmental services worker (DSW) Training. Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Certificate. First Aid Certificate. CPR Certificate. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Driving record check (abstract). Transportation/travel information: Own vehicle. Vehicle supplied by employer. Valid driver's licence. Public transportation is not available. Personal suitability: Efficient interpersonal skills. Excellent oral communication. Interpersonal awareness. Judgement. Values and ethics. Client focus. Excellent written communication. Initiative. Team player. Organized.
