We are focused on hiring only those exceptional individuals who value safety in the workplace and remain committed to the collective goal of maintaining our Aecon ?zero injury? culture. *PURPOSE OF THE POSITION* Reporting to the appropriate site supervisor, the Pipefitter / Steamfitter Apprentice & Journeyman will be responsible for providing full cycle, in depth knowledge and support for the profession of Pipefitter / Steamfitter to ensure Aecon Construction Solutions Inc. achieves their general and specific project requirements. *ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES* · Study blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine the type of pipe and tools to use and lay out the sequence of tasks · Make detailed sketches for pipe and equipment fabrication and installation · Measure, cut, thread, groove, bend, solder, assemble and install metal, plastic and fibreglass pipes, valves and fittings · Join pipe sections and related equipment and secure in position · Use testing equipment to check systems for leaks · Remove and replace worn components and do general maintenance work *KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS* · Certified Journeyman Trade Ticket or indentured in the apprenticeship program · Physical strength and stamina · Manual dexterity · Mechanical aptitude · The ability to read and understand complex instructions and drawings · The ability to do careful and precise work · May be required to lift items weighing over 25 kilograms · Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test · Must have a strong understanding of safety procedures and policies on an industrial job site *PHYSICAL DEMANDS* · Repetitive movement · Able to perform in a fast-paced environment · Continuously changing work tasks · Ability to work a significant amount of hours throughout the day · Ability to lift and work with materials weighing up to 25kg · Ability to work in all weather conditions and environments Job Type: Full-time Pay: $27.80-$46.33 per hour Additional pay: * Overtime pay Benefits: * Dental care * Extended health care * Vision care Flexible language requirement: * French not required Schedule: * Monday to Friday Application question(s): * Are you willing to work night shift?
