*Summary:* Join The Woof Gang Bakery and Grooming amazing salon team. We are hiring a senior dog groomer at our new location in Waterloo. We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dog Groomer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a full range of grooming services to dogs of all breeds and sizes, ensuring their health, comfort, and well-being. *Responsibilities:* *Grooming Services:* * Bathing and drying dogs using appropriate techniques and products * Brushing and de-matting fur, removing debris and dead skin from their coats * Trimming and styling fur according to breed standards or customer requests * Clipping nails, cleaning ears, and expressing anal glands (only if required) * Identifying and reporting any skin conditions or health issues to the owner *Customer Service:* * Greeting customers and their dogs in a friendly and professional manner * Discussing grooming needs and preferences with owners * Providing advice on dog care and grooming products * Handling customer inquiries and concerns with patience and empathy *Salon Maintenance:* * Maintaining a clean and organized work area * Sanitizing grooming equipment and tools * Assisting with laundry and general salon upkeep *Safety and Animal Welfare:* * Handling dogs with care and compassion, using positive reinforcement techniques * Ensuring the safety and comfort of dogs at all times * Following all salon safety protocols and procedures *Qualifications:* * *Experience:* Previous experience as a professional dog groomer is preferred * *Certification:* Certification from a recognized grooming school or organization is a plus *Skills:* * Strong knowledge of dog breeds, coat types, and grooming techniques * Excellent hand-eye coordination and dexterity * Ability to handle dogs of different sizes and temperaments * Good communication and customer service skills * Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy dogs *Personal Qualities:* * Genuine love for animals and a patient, gentle approach * Attention to detail and a commitment to quality * Ability to work independently and as part of a team * Positive attitude and a strong work ethic *Benefits:* * Consistent base pay with commission incentives * Opportunity to work with a variety of dog breeds * Supportive and positive work environment * Ongoing training and development opportunities *To Apply:* Please submit your resume and a cover letter outlining your experience and passion for dog grooming.
