The manager is accountable for the management of the Emergency Department and ICU.This position reports to the Regional Director Medicine and Critical Care and will be responsible for providing leadership and direction to the staff in these areas to promote excellence in patient care. The successful incumbent will demonstrate the ability to coordinate, integrate, and facilitate the provision of care services, manage resources effectively, direct and lead the care team, as well as plan and direct change effectively The incumbent will need to balance patient care requirements with the available resources to promote the best possible outcomes. Five (5) years' experience as a registered heath care provider is required. A minimum of two (2) years management experience and one (1) year leadership experience within the last five (5) years is also required. Candidates must have a minimum of three (3) years' experience in Acute Care setting and a strong knowledge of emergency medicine and critical care.The successful candidate will demonstrate critical thinking, effective problem solving and decision-making as well as strong communication skills. The candidate must work independently in a strong leadership role and be able to lead teams and work effectively within an interdisciplinary team environment to support program planning. The candidate must possess computer skills including Microsoft word, power point, and excel databases and spreadsheets.In the event no suitable candidate is found with the above noted qualifications, consideration may be given to applicants with other combinations of experience and education.
