SCHOOL: VANDERHOOF AND AREA SCHOOLS <p>START DATE: JANUARY 6, 2025, to JUNE 30, 2026 (MATERNITY LEAVE) <p>SALARY: $73,574.00 to $114,612.00 + CURRENT PROVINCIAL RECRUITMENT AND RETENTION ALLOWANCE ASSIGNMENT: .80 FTE TERM POSITION - EXCLUDED DISTRICT SPEECH AND LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST MUST HAVE ACCESS TO RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION TRAVEL TO DIFFERENT SCHOOLS IN OUTLYING COMMUNITES IS REQUIRED Qualifications: Committed to making collaborative decisions about instructional design and selection of instructional materials based on data related to student learning. <p> Eligible for membership with Speech and Audiology Canada, Speech and Hearing BC, and registration by the College of Health Care Professionals BC (CHCPBC). <p> Must have Masters Level Training or equivalent in speech and language pathology. <p> Training in Hanen methodologies would be an asset. <p> Possess strong organizational, time, and general management skills. <p> Experience in assessing speech and language needs of students with autism and other disabilities. <p> Experience in working with educational teams with problem solving and implementation. <p> Ability to problem solve, model, and learn to implement a variety of AAC devices. <p> Experience in designing programs for students with autism and other disabilities. <p> Hold a valid Class 5, B.C. Driver's License and an exemplary driving record as demonstrated by a current driver's abstract. <p> Specific assignment to be determined by the school principals, in consultation with the District Principal of Inclusive Education. Key tasks and expectations related to this specialist position will involve: Working with educational staff to assess and design programs for students with a variety of disabilities. <p> Writing programs to support students and supporting implementation. <p> Travel to different schools in outlying communities. <p> Will involve working with other agencies and support people. <p> Communication with parents. SPECIFIC ASSIGNMENT TO BE DETERMINED BY THE DISTRICT PRINCIPAL OF INCLUSIVE EDUCATION <p>Professional dispositions are defined here as the values, commitments and professional ethics that influence an educator's approach to their work.
